Gardiner Expressway in Spring and Fall
The Gardiner Expressway passes through downtown Toronto and connects the city to its suburbs. It is a fast way to get to the core of the city, however in the process it isolates the waterfront and I think of it as one of those ugly but practical urban structures.

I live quite close to the waterfront and often walk over this bridge to get to lake Ontario. It is interesting to watch traffic on the highway during rush hours.
Fast way? I dunno about that. Every time I enter or exit the city, there’s always a traffic jam!
LOL yeah the growth in number of cars easily surpasses the space constraint!
This is one ugly freeway… like the 417 in Ottawa. But yeah, useful I guess… except during rush hour!
Hi Zhu, the freeway does make everything around it ugly… 🙁
Spring looks so beautiful and lively.
Fall looks like the Europe – dull and boring 😀
hehe, there are no fall colours in the picture, hence it looks boring. Otherwise, autumn is equally beautiful:)
Great lighting on the Spring photo 🙂
Thanks Lainey!
