Humber River Bridge
The Humber River Arch Bridge is a pedestrian and bicycle bridge at the point where Toronto’s Humber river merges into Lake Ontario. The bridge is about 3-4 km from my place (depending on the route) on the popular recreational trail along the waterfront of the city.
One of the approaches
Also known as the Humber Bay Arch Bridge, the Humber River Pedestrian Bridge, or the Gateway Bridge, the bridge is 139 metres in length, and was built in 1994.
Mid morning (picture from spring 2009)
The trail gets quite busy on evenings and weekends of summer with cyclists, rollerbladers, joggers, dog walkers, kids and casual strollers, so I seldom use it during those times. My regularly irregular time to run is early in the morning.
At sunset (today)
I was hanging out at the place today with some friends and I had to take a post-sunset picture. Watching me take pictures at night is kinda weird (for others) because I have to lie on the ground at various angles, use my little semi-broken stand and adjust the exposure a couple of times. Its a very geeky process, but it works to my satisfaction. 🙂
At night (couple of hours ago!)
PS: This is post no. 28. What else is 28? hmm, my age since last 6 days. Isn’t it hard to remember it just after you enter a new year?
Must be a sight, you taking pictures at sunset!
And how is being 28 turning out to be?
hehehe, its going alright so far Mridula!
Beautiful pictures…especially love the night shot.
How do you manage to run early in the morning when you stay up late in the night.
Stop talking about 28…you are making us feel older!!
hehehe, I don’t stay up very late, max till midnight. And 6-7 hours is enough sleep for me. 🙂
Awesome pics , looks like a great place to cycle, I’m a mountain biker from way back, and beautiful sunset!
Oh mountain biking? thats good to know Bob! 🙂
The picture at night is beautifull!
Reminds me a little bit of the main bridge in Winnipeg, across the Red River and the Assiniboine.
Oh I haven’t been to Winnipeg… 🙂 But I bet its beautiful!
