This is not one of my memorable places. The Gorditas (which are like Indian parathas) were fresh and delicious. I ate one stuffed with chicken (and green sauce) but since it was so delicious, I asked for another one stuffed with beans. Burp!
Nevaria is an icecream parlor. This one had atleast 10 flavours. I didn't believe it initially, but icecream is meant to be eaten with chili sauce~!
This was my first meal in Mexico and it wasn't as tasty as it cost. It also reinforced my belief that taste of food is inversely proportional to its cost.
I liked this mug! Very interesting design. The rest of the stuff was pretty generic.
At the Coyoacan Mercado, there were lots of food stalls specializing in Tostadas. Until eating here, I was quite skeptical about eating on the street, lest my digestive system crash. But nothing happened!
By far my most favorite Mexican dish. Tostadas have a crispy fried corn tortilla as the base and you can ask for toppings such as chicken, pork, beans, mushrooms, etc. Mine usually came with avocados, tomatoes and cheese and cream ofcourse.
Pastelerias are wonderful places for a dessert lover. This one was close to the Zocalo in Mexico city and was incredibly cheap and delicious too!
I forget what these are called, but they are crunchy fried and made from flour. Sortof like Indian papad.
These was everywhere and reminded me of India! I had no interest in eating this.
A street eatery in central Mexico city, serving mostly Quesadillas.
crunch crunch
These taste like Indian chikkis. They are similar to राजगीरा चिक्की, दाण्याची चिक्की, etc.
A whole lane full of vendors marketing their food. I ate a set lunch (comida corrida) and it was delicious.
When its hot, one should eat fruit. With chili sauce ofcourse!
Sopa de pasta (Pasta soup), at village near Mineral del Chico
Comida corrida (set lunch) at an unexpected place I ended up in, near Mineral del Chico
Pastes for breakfast at Pachuca bus station
Pozole, meaning 'foamy', is a ritually significant traditional stew. It has corn, pork or chicken and gravy made from chili peppers and garnish. In Taxco, its customary to have Posole on thursdays.
Paloma is a popular Mexican cocktail made using tequila and grapefruit-flavoured soda. My host enthusiastically prepared the drinks with a lime wedges and a salt-rimmed glass.
Taco with pork and green sauce and chili on the side. Very greasy but oh so good!
Yum! Are you surprised this is the first photo album of yours from Mexico that I checked out? ;-p
Hey Ryna! Nice to see you here and you chose the perfect place to start from!! But your comment is about your comment and not the food, so I am kinda lost…lol
