↑ Playa Negra (black sand beach), Cahuita
I travelled to Costa Rica very recently and indulged in a number of eco-tourism activities including volunteering for a sea-turtle conservation project. It’s a lovely little country and I traveled from the laid-back Atlantic coast with a Caribbean vibe to the more touristy and surf towns on the Pacific coast, stopping in the highlands on the way.

San Jose is the capital of Costa Rica and a good base to reach out to both Pacific and Atlantic coasts.
The Atlantic Coast
Relaxed Caribbean vibe, mellow Reggae beats, beautiful coastline, and not too far from the sea-turtles hatching zone.
Tamarindo
Surfer’s paradise and a great beach to learn.
Monte Verde
Monteverde Cloud Forest is quite lovely, with lots of animals and insects to see. In addition, this is also the adrenaline capital of the country.
