Man! Parenting is tough!
Spotted while strolling through the Chapultepec park spread around the spectacular castle on top of the hill…
↑ I knew it. Kids and pets are the same – unpredictable, undisciplined, short attention span and therefore we need to keep them under strict control. Just for 8 pesos ($0.80), you can put a leash on your child, how wonderful! Don’t forget to pick up after your baby!
↑ I can understand why toddlers are put on a child harness. I guess its a matter of safety and security. (But atleast colour coordinate that leash!)
↑ …but grown up kids too?
↑ …and these kids look too old to be tied up. At what point does safety turn into laziness, paranoia or downright abuse?

The kid looks way too old to be tied up like that!
I’ve seen daycare doing that with young kids when they take them out for a walk but they are usually 2 or 3 years old.
haha, yepp I agree, too old. 🙂
Ok, I was thinking it was a good idea until I got to the last picture and saw the teenager!!
Hi Natalie, welcome to my blog!
The teenager was tied up to a toddler. I wonder what end that serves. 🙂
funny to some extent!!!…and kids are never too old to be disciplined!! lols!!!
yeah but this is a funny method!
I can understand it but they do look a bit odd. All the kids here at the moment are walking around in shoes that squeak on contact with the floor. It makes for noisy walking but parents can always hear their kids nearby.
Julia
Hi Julia! Welcome to my blog.
Oh I remember those shoes, they became very popular in India when I was a teenager and so little children annoyed the hell out of me. 🙂
Maybe it is like laloos bihar ? are people scared of apaharans?
Damn nifty tool mind u especially with small kids….
my sisters son, in one phase was like a supermop , ate anything he found on the ground..
one more nifty tool an infant/kid helmet….
ps did u notice , the family is obese kid is not… so they keep him on the leash i guess…just kidding
one more … maybe this is the mexican version of kumbh mela ….
Maybe they have seen a lot of dubbed 70s bollywood … 🙂
Hahahaa, I like the kumbha mela analogy. Seriously, it could happen in Mexico.

Funny.
If it’s not so uncommun, perhaps the kid don’t care !
Do you have more picture on that ? (I am from France, and I made a studie about kid on leash, who is so uncommon in france)
regards,
Corinne
Hi Corinne, nice to hear from you! I don’t have more pictures unfortunately but hope this helps your project!
Did you see only those 3 kids ?
Those are commun ?
Hi Corinne, there were dozens of kids on a leash! I was too shy to take more pictures. 🙂
Sad to say, the notices of missing children that come up on my Mexican friends’ facebook pages are heartbreakingly frequent. Maybe that’s a factor too.
