Last Saturday, while the mercury remained high at around 34ºC, my neighbourhood was busy hosting the “Parkdale Then and Now” festival. The celebration was full of fun stuff – live music, food, bazaar with tons of art and craft stalls, book sale and a couple of entertainment zone exclusively for kids (I wanted to play in the bouncy castle too…)...

From the central highlands of Mexico, I reached Yucatan and checked out some cities and ruins between Merida and Cancun.
Chichen Itza and Valladolid were my biggest surprises. The former is one of the new Seven Wonders of the World, which I thought was just okay and the later is a small town with nothing particularly exciting, yet I felt drawn to it...

When I was traveling in Peru, I went on a 3 day trek in the Colca canyon with a group of 4 travellers. While we were crossing a bridge at the floor of the canyon, someone was shooting a commercial for promoting this region of the Andes mountain ranges. They were delighted to see few foreigners (somehow I was called a gringo too) and insisted that we participate in their video...

I was very surprised to see how diverse and mixed Mexico city was. My visit was short, so I only got a teaser of the whole deal. Still, since my couchsurfing hosts were scattered around the city, taking the public transit and exploring neighbourhoods was part of the deal.
I was mostly curious about the large number of newspaper and magazine stands with pictures of semi-naked ladies...

The Necropolis cemetery is a historic cemetery in Toronto. Located on the west side of the Don Valley near Riverdale Farm, the cemetery is the final resting place for several famous Torontonians and Canadians.
I find it fascinating how some religions and cultures maintain a physical location with tombstones setup to remember their loved ones. It's very sweet...

Located to the west of Zocalo and the historic centre, Monument to the Revolution is a landmark and monument commemorating the Mexican Revolution. The building looks majestic with a symbolic 'open-socialist concept', and you can take an elevator to the top for taking HDR pirctures...
