Home of the Toronto Blue Jays (Baseball) and Toronto Argonauts (American Football)
Rogers Centre, formerly known as the Sky Dome, is located right next to the CN tower. Together, they form a distinctive skyline of the city. Last summer, I went to the Rogers Centre to watch a baseball match – Toronto Blue Jays v/s St. Louis Cardinals (From Missouri, USA).

I was always puzzled by Baseball. It sounded like overly simplified Cricket: A guy from team A throws a ball at a guy holding a bat from team B. The team B guy is supposed to hit the ball and run on a path shaped like a square, while the players from team A find the ball and return it to the one of the corners of the square. If the ball reaches before the hitter, team A gets the point and the hitter goes out.

The game lasted for a long time and since Toronto was losing, lot of people started leaving. I admit I was getting bored, but having a camera comes in handy in such occasions. Unless someone gives me a free ticket, I doubt whether I’ll go for a baseball match again.

Stadiums have such a charged up like atmosphere..the energy is amazing!
Good to see you back in action Priyank. I myself was away from blogworld for a while, but am back. Have a lovely day.
Thanks for stopping by Celine!
Hahaha see I think that cricket is overly complicated baseball! Funny. I can tell you that baseball’s appeal is often lost on non-North Americans. Also, the Jays aren’t the best representatives of the awesomeness of baseball – don’t let them change your mind about maybe going to a Yankees or Red Sox or Cubs game in the States…those experiences might give you a better idea of what the game is all about.
That being said, as someone who remembers the energy of the 92-93 World Series wins, I still love nothing more than heading down to the Dome for a sunny summer afternoon of beer and ice cream out of a mini-helmet!
Hi Lindsay,
Aha, now those are the things that make sports fun. I will look out for a game that promises to be full of action. Baseball has such a wide appeal and long history, I want to experience some of it too! Thanks for sharing!
