Gerrard street India Bazaar is a nicely constructed “Indian” experience.
Toronto’s Little India neighbourhood is located on Gerrard street near Coxwell avenue.
It’s a neat spectacle for folks who haven’t been to India. I’m obviously cynical: the food is mediocre, chaat is fake, the facade arrangements are tacky and majority of the places are not even run by Indians. When I went there for the first time, I was quite confused! But yeah you can buy clothes, sarees, kurtas, bangles, carpets, spices and things like that. Lot of them are good quality too.
Hint while choosing a restaurant: If you see brown people eating there, its more likely that the place has real food. If you see forks, spoons and knives on the tables, run away!
506 Carleton Street car runs east-west while 22 Coxwell bus serves north-south.
So that concludes this trip to little India neighbourhood of Toronto.

Ha, I like that hint. I use that metric too, in Mexico, that’s how I found the taqueria on Madero Street!
Its a universal trick, always works!
