Total Lunar Eclipse on Winter Solstice
Earlier today, between 01:30 and 05:00, we had a total lunar eclipse. I was up in the middle of the night for 2.5 hours taking pictures in the freezing -13ºC. It was fun to figure out camera settings and prop it up at an angle for taking the pictures. I think there were large number of people in Toronto who were watching the eclipse.
I can’t remember when was the last time I saw a total lunar eclipse – I think in 1997/98 when I was in grade 10. And I guess I won’t see another eclipse on a winter solstice in my lifetime ever.
