It’s fabulous to have such markets in the supermarket era
Fresh produce, ethnic foods, fancy meats and old family recipes – a market is the only place to find all of these together. St. Lawrence market is a great treasure tucked in a quiet Old Toronto neighbourhood, next to downtown Toronto.

There is something for everyone and one can spend hours browsing through various sections of the market.

Hi Priyank,
Such appealing photos (except the ones of meat!). I love markets and discovering new produce, especially freshly baked sourdough bread, exotic fruits and chocolate. A plus is that prices are often better than in the supermarket. Right now I miss the market hall Saluhallen in Gothenburg, where I sometimes went when living there last year.
Hi Erica! I posted only one picture of the meat section. I couldn’t do more – that section is certainly not for vegetarians at all.
I have decided to shop more often from there!
i just love to hang out in such places, back in delhi , there’s INA Market and Lajpat Nagar Market where everything and anything is available!!!!!…
Oh India is full of such markets! In fact, one must take pictures of supermarkets in India… hehehe!
Ah! I was just here!
And here is the link to my album about the market in Budapest that I told you was similar to this one.
Nice stuff LIW!
One of my favorite places in Toronto! I took similar pictures earlier this year: http://correresmidestino.com/st-lawrence-market/
yep yep I remember that post!
Hippy Zhu!
Awesome photos
We went there once but I didn’t get many good shots. I have only been there once but I’d love to go back one day and make my mom come with me (she loves to cook and she has not been there).
Thanks Lainey!
You must go again, by yourself, so that you get sufficient time without feeling guilty…
