Last few days I’ve been excited all the time. Ask me why. Ok I’ll tell anyway.
Thats because this time next month I’m going on a trip to Israel sponsored by my b-school. I’m a part of an elite team ‘chosen’ by the school. We are supposed to go to Tel Aviv, whip our magic wands, churn out analyses, strategies and do some MBA giri in general and suddenly the world was a better place.
Anyway.
That’s just for few days, then begins the fun part. I’ll spend another 10 days traveling across the country alone – Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, West Bank, Dead Sea, Hafia, Golan heights, and even sneak to Mt. Sinai, in Egypt. Israel is such a tiny country – just 8 hours from North to South and 2 hours from East to West.

If you have been there, or have some tips for me (apart from sermons of being careful), I’m all ears

some time back i had seen an episode on discovery where they showed some place in Israel which was a foodie paradise (like a khau galli). if u enjoy non veg food, then ask around and you might get a taste of it (literally)

I’ve been to the ‘Holy Land’ a few years back. Can fill you in on my experience online.
I like your emphasis on the word ‘alone.’ Travelling alone is more challenging and fun at times, isn’t it?
Enjoy your trip.
1) Build a small Hindu shrine underneath some tree or perhaps in one of those caves around the Dead sea.
2) Leave a small statuette of the Buddha in the middle of a busy market in Jerusalem.
Perhaps a few hundred years from now, the Hindus and Buddhists will join the Muslim, Jews and Christians in fighting for that land as well;)

Jerusalem was actually a sugarcane growing area, called ‘jara us an’ (to be renamed Shivajinagar shortly). Wicked 
Yeah, and there is already a city called Ramalah… I think its a city of Marathi people who were welcoming Ram from mission Lanka chanting ‘Ram ala’
When I said online, I meant a chat on messenger someday.
I started writing lately only about my travels to India but haven’t blogged about my other trips abroad (been to about 15 other countries). Perhaps should start another blog to recount those adventures. For the moment, I’m looking forward to my solo trip to MP.

Here are my approximate expenses per day:
Accommodation: $20
Transportation: $10
Food: $15
Misc: $5
Note that I traveled as a single guy on my own (no guides/tours), stayed in backpacker hostel dorms (very basic), ate street food and always took public transport (no taxis). You may have to change that to suit your travel style.
